Obama Calls For National Civilian Stasi

Presidential candidate wants domestic “security force” as powerful as
U.S. military, columnist compares proposal to Hitler Youth

Presidential frontrunner Barack Obama has called for a “civilian
national security force” as powerful as the U.S. military, comments that
were ignored by the vast majority of the corporate media but compared by
one journalist to the Nazi Hitler Youth.

“We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the
national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian
national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as
well-funded,” Obama told a Colorado Springs audience earlier this month.

World Net Daily editor Joseph Farah asked if he was the only journalist
in America who found Obama’s statement troubling.

Yup, I’ll support 100% the GOP dream ticket of Sarah Palin and Ann
Coulter in 2012. Obama should get around 95% of the vote against those
two lol.

here is someone trying a numeric analysis of the usa presidential candidates use of blather

he calls it hypnotic techniques but that puts too strong a spin
on it….this sort of blather is widespread among salesmen
lawyers, second rate politicians, cult leaders, preachers and
    other conmen…
this sort of thing only works on the dull and the unsophisticated and
     eventually loses impact…

look forward to the disillusionment with obarmy after a short
    honeymoon period….

http://www.transformdestiny.com/blog/?tag=conversational-hypnosis
In addition, I made comments on whether or not, in my professional
opinion, the language patterns are haphazard and incidental, or
purposeful and intentional.
Here are the control results:

Bill Gates: Keynote at the 2006 CES show

12% hypnotic language. Mostly incidental. In my opinion, very
representative of the average non-hypnotic speaker.

Adolf Hitler: Translated from his presentation to the Reichstag, Jan
30, 1937

45% hypnotic language. There were extensive use of presuppositions,
nominalizations and modal operators similar to Ericksonian hypnotic
language patterns. Though the text is translated, German is similar to
English in terms of grammar and structure, and I think this is a good
representation.
Now, The 2008 US Presidential candidates:

John McCain: Republican candidate, Jan 19, 2008 acceptance speech
18% hypnotic language. Mostly incidental. Little indication of actual
hypnotic skill. Mostly, using kinesthetic predicates (feeling words)
for high level concepts like patriotism, pride and duty to gain
rapport with the crowd.

Hillary Clinton: Democratic candidate, Feb 5, 2008, remarks on Super
Tuesday
32% hypnotic language. Mostly rapport building “matching” language.
She builds universal quantifiers in an attempt to gain rapport with
“everyone.”

Barack Obama: Democratic candidate, Feb 5, 2008, remarks on Super
Tuesday
58% hypnotic language. Complete mastery of the language, including
highly abstract pacing and leading language for creating emotion and
motivation. In addition to the language patterns, he is fantastic at
going higher up in level of abstraction beyond details, while still
managing to sound relevant. He uses Ericksonian-style language
patterns, including presuppositions and nominalizations extensively.

This is only a sample of 500 words from a single speech, but as you
can see, Obama tops the crowd using nearly 60% hypnotic language
patterns. In my opinion, this is purposeful language, likely written
by a very skilled speech writer — perhaps someone trained in
Neuro-Linguistic Programming or Hypnosis.

-Michael

PS – Here’s another great blog I found that echoes the same sentiment:

and
http://greatguys.blogspot.com/2008/09/i-mustve-seen-different-speech….
UPDATE – September 6, 2008: My analysis of Palin’s RNC speech using
the same criteria shows 25% hypnotic language. Good speech writer, but
not as good as Obama’s.

More Religious Insanity

NEW YORK – A Washington hospital has asked a judge for permission to
stop treating a brain-dead 12-year-old cancer patient, even though his
ultra-religious New York parents want to keep him on life support.

Motl Brody of Brooklyn was pronounced dead this week after a half-year
fight against a brain tumor, and doctors at Children’s National
Medical Center in Washington say the seventh-grader’s brain has ceased
functioning entirely.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27611868/

You can sympathse with parents not wanting to accept their son is
dead, but they have some nerve if they expect others to humour their
delusion that there will be a unprecedented Lazarus miracle and fund
their insanity to the tune of thousands of dollars a day, thus tying
up very expensive equipment that could be saving some other child’s
life.

You might remind them that when Jesus performed his reputed raising
from the dead miracle, he did not require the help of life-support.

Margolis: World applauds Obama victory

http://www.ericmargolis.com/political_commentaries/the-world-applauds…

THE WORLD APPLAUDS OBAMA’S VICTORY

– November 05, 2008

America has hopefully left the dark period of post-9/11 `temporary
madness,’ to use the words of writer John Le Carré, and is re-emerging
into the daylight. The grim era of President George W. Bush and his
mentor (and real president), VP Dick Cheney, is at an end.
But they have handed a poisoned chalice to president-elect Obama.
Three foreign wars – Afghanistan, Iraq, and Somalia – national
bankruptcy, an enraged Russia, the entire Muslim world seething with
hatred for the US, a wave of Islamophobia at home, growing anti-
Americanism in Latin America, India developing nuclear weapons that
will one day threaten the USA, and on and on.

Obama will have to deal with all these problems and a fast-emerging
China while trying to fend off the powerful special interests in
Washington that have already been putting the squeeze on him: the
military-industrial-petroleum complex, big pharma, the Israel and farm
lobbies, bankrupt auto makers, the finance industry, old folks, and
black groups clamoring for more federal funds.

Once Obama has to face all these demons, I fear many of his supporters
will be disappointed as their savior turns into a typical Washington
politician who has to juggle all sorts of competing demands while the
nation is plunged into financial crisis. A good start would be by
bringing criminal charges against the fraudsters, mountebanks and
crooks who created the current financial panic and shutting down the
Guantanamo Devil’s Island.

The Republicans have certainly gotten what they so richly deserved –
irrelevance and ignominy. Under George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, the
party veered off to the extreme right, and even flirted at times with
Mussolini-style fascism. The GOP became a virtual theocratic party of
the rural Protestant fundamentalist far right, led by little
ayatollahs preaching hate for Muslims and big city folk. Republicans
are now relegated to the Southern and Midwestern boondocks of the US,
its most backward, dumbed-down regions. The party of Lincoln and
Eisenhower needs to purge itself of hicks and holy rollers and return
to its moderate roots in the civilized, educated regions of America.

Equally important, Republicans must delouse the party of its neocon
infestation and bring in foreign policy experts who put America’s
interests above those of foreign nations. The Democrats also need be
wary: the necons, smelling impending disaster, began jumping the
Republican ship well before elections and are now burrowing into the
Democratic Party.

As a North American, I am enormously proud of president-elect Barack
Obama and of the nation that elected him. Yesterday’s epic vote does
much to relieve America of the lingering shame and burden of slavery
and mistreatment of its people of color. I don’t think any black man
will be called `boy’ again after Obama’s victory. His election marks
America’s important demographic shift from a mostly white nation to
one of mixed race and multiple cultures.

I can only hope and pray that Obama will end the Bush administration’s
foul legacy of lying, assassination, kidnapping, torture, secret
prisons, supporting despots, and whipping up hatred of Islam while
playing to Christian religious fanatics and doomsday cultists.
America’s once proud name was disgraced and dragged through the mud
during the Bush years. I was often ashamed to be an American and
racked by sorrow over how low my nation, whose uniform I once proudly
wore, had sunk. I often compared Bush’s America to the old Soviet
Union.

Americans have spoken with wisdom and intelligence even though the
media and their leaders still deceives them over Iraq and Afghanistan.
The whole world was sick of Bush/Cheney and revels in the thought they
will soon be consigned to the ash heap of history. By January, the
worst, most incompetent, most destructive president in US history will
be gone. Alas, a lot of his most pernicious acts, like stuffing the
Supreme Court and Appeals Courts with right wing ideologues,
curtailing individual liberties, unleashing security organs against
citizens, institutionalizing torture, and militarizing foreign policy,
will continue when he is long gone.

Whether the youthful Obama will restore America’s economy, values, and
world position remains uncertain. But it is hard to conceive of him
and the Democrats doing worse than Bush/Cheney and the southern-fried
Republican Party.

Obama’s victory speech contained the following phrase:

"And to those Americans whose support I have yet to earn – I may not
have won your vote, but I hear your voices, I need your help, and I
will be your President too. "
Rhetoric, perhaps, but elegant and promising. What a pleasing change
from Bush’s garbled bombast.

Some historians claim people really do not make a difference. Historic
change comes from economic or social trends, they insist. Wrong. One
man, Barack Obama, has made history and is going to make a lot more
over the coming years. I salute him.

Slimy Rahm Emanuel

In his interview with George Stephanopoulos, Rahm Emanuel dodged the
question twice "Will president elect Obama postpone the promised tax
increase on people making over $200,000 a year".

To Mr. Stephanopoulos’s credit, he repeated the question and called
Emanuel on dodging the question twice. I am impressed since George
Stephanopoulos was Clinton’s advisor.  If anyone, you would expect him
to lob softballs.

Top cop: "Rampant Voter Fraud by Illegal Aliens Ignored by Government and Media!"

Rampant Voter Fraud by Illegal Aliens Ignored by Government and Media

By Jim Kouri
Fifth-Vice President of the National Association of Chiefs of Police

"Americans would be shocked to discover that hundreds of thousands of
general election voters are illegal aliens, green-card immigrants, and
criminals who’ve murdered, raped and robbed US citizens. And guess
which political party benefits the most from their votes? The one
that’s pushing for amnesty and a bag full of free goodies." – Janice
Martin

A recent study released by the conservative think-tank the Heritage
Foundation provides proof that illegal aliens and immigrants with
green cards are committing rampant voter fraud in the United States.

Reports of ineligible persons registering to vote have raised concerns
about state processes for verifying voter registration lists. States
usually base voter eligibility on the voter’s age, US citizenship,
mental competence, and felon status.

Although individual states run elections, Congress has authority to
affect the administration of the elections. The Help America Vote Act
of 2002 (HAVA) had set a deadline for states to have a statewide voter
registration list and list verification procedures.

For example, the methods used in seven selected states to verify voter
eligibility and ensure accuracy of voter registration lists were
varied and include relying on registrant self attestation, return
mailings, and checking against lists of felony convictions or deceased
individuals. Some states, for instance, failed to do any more than ask
on their application forms if the registrant was a US citizen. The
applicant will merely check off the "Yes" box, but there is no action
to verify the authenticity of that answer.

"The voter registration officials simply take the word of the
registrant with no follow-up," said conservative political strategist
Michael Baker.

"Some states that require some backup documentation merely ask for a
utility bill or a driver’s license — neither of which prove
citizenship. In other words, legal or illegal aliens can easily
register to vote in local and national elections," warns Baker.

According to a [1] Congressional study of voter fraud , other
challenges such as identifying duplicate registrations in other states
or having insufficient information to match other data sources with
voter registration lists may continue to be issues.

While federal data sources have the potential to help state election
officials identify registrants who may be convicted felons or non-
citizens, few states communicate with federal agencies such as the
Homeland Security Department’s immigration section.

Many government officials — mostly liberals — claim that illegal
aliens voting is not a major problem, conservative activists respond
that while the potential number identified may be small, an election
can be decided by a few votes. In 2004, the presidential race between
Democrat Al Gore and Republican George W. Bush was decided by a few
hundred votes in Florida.

"While the news media perpetuated the assertion that Bush and the GOP
‘stole’ the election, it could very well have been illegal aliens
voting in Florida that made the outcome so close," said former NYPD
cop, now security firm owner, Sid Francis.

"Bush may have beaten Gore by more votes if illegals were excluded,
since immigrants tend to vote for Democrats. Or Gore could have won
decisively had there been prior screening before people were allowed
into the voting booths," said Det. Francis.

"There was absolutely no mention in the mainstream media regarding
suspected voter fraud by illegal or legal aliens. It was much easier
for the agenda-driven newspeople to accuse Republicans of stealing the
election," added Baker.

"Florida is not unique. Thousands of non-citizens are registered to
vote in some states, and tens if not hundreds of thousands in total
may be present on the voter rolls nationwide. These numbers are
significant: Local elections are often decided by only a handful of
votes, and even national elections have likely been within the margin
of the number of non-citizens illegally registered to vote," said Hans
A. von Spakovsky, a researcher at the Heritage Foundation.

"There is no reliable method to determine the number of non-citizens
registered or actually voting because most laws to ensure that only
citizens vote are ignored, are inadequate, or are systematically
undermined by government officials. Those who ignore the implications
of non-citizen registration and voting either are willfully blind to
the problem or may actually favor this form of illegal voting," said
Spakovsky, an expert on the subject of illegal aliens and immigration
law, during an interview on Fox News Channel.

As far as felons, US Attorneys are required to notify state election
officials of federal felony convictions, but the information is not
always easy for election officials to interpret or complete, according
to New Jersey GOP strategist Janice Martin.

"Americans would be shocked to discover that hundreds of thousands of
general election voters are illegal aliens, green-card immigrants, and
criminals who’ve murdered, raped and robbed US citizens. And guess
which political party benefits the most from their votes? The one
that’s pushing for amnesty and a bag full of free goodies," said
Martin.

Dr. von Spakovsky believes many government officials and politicians
are complicit in the voter fraud problem.

"To keep non-citizens from diluting citizens’ votes, immigration and
election officials must cooperate far more effectively than they have
to date, and state and federal officials must increase their efforts
to enforce the laws against non-citizen voting that are already on the
books," he wrote in his [2] Heritage Foundation study on illegal alien
voter fraud .

"While the liberal media and the liberal establishment ignore what is
a huge scandal, American voters are having their rights violated. When
an illegal aliens or felon or other person prohibited by law to vote,
their votes cancels out those of American citizens," warns Baker.

"Liberals want illegal aliens and felons to vote. They benefit from
such rampant fraud."
