CHRISTIANS TO BE HARMED DIRECTLY

CHRISTIANS TO BE HARMED DIRECTLY

Lastly, the Talmud commands that Christians are to be killed without
mercy. In the Abhodah Zarah (26b) it says:

"Heretics, traitors and apostates are to be thrown into a well and
not rescued."

And in Choschen Hammischpat (388,10) it says:

"A spy is to be killed, even in our days, wherever he is found. He
may be killed even before he confesses. And even if he admits that he
only intended to do harm to somebody, and if the harm which he intended
is not very great, it is sufficient to have him condemned to death. He
must be warned, however, not to confess to this. But if he impudently
says ‘No, I will confess it!’ then he must be killed, and the sooner the
better. If there is no time to warn him, it is not necessary to do so.
There are some who say that a traitor is to be put to death only when it
is impossible to get rid of him by mutilating him, that is, by cutting
out his tongue or his eyes, but if this can be done he must not be
killed, since he is not any worse than others who persecute us."

And in Choschen Hamm. again (388,15) it says:

"If it can be proved that someone has betrayed Israel three times,
or has given the money of Israelites to the Akum, a way must be found
after prudent consideration to wipe him off the face of the earth."

* * * * *

I. RENEGADES TO BE KILLED

Even a Christian who is found studying the Law of Israel merits death.
In Sanhedrin (59a) it says:

"Rabbi Jochanan says: A Goi who pries into the Law is guilty to death."

II. BAPTIZED JEWS ARE TO BE PUT TO DEATH

In Hilkhoth Akum (X, 2) it says:

"These things [supra] are intended for idolaters. But Israelites
also, who lapse from their religion and become epicureans, are to be
killed, and we must persecute them to the end. For they afflict Israel
and turn the people from God."

* * *

And in Iore Dea (158,2 Hagah) it says:

"Renegades who turn to the pleasures of the Akum, and who become
contaminated with them by worshipping stars and planets as they do, are
to be killed."

Likewise in Choschen Hamm. (425,5) it says:

"Jews who become epicureans, who take to the worship of stars and
planets and sin maliciously; also those who eat the flesh of wounded
animals, or who dress in vain clothes, deserve the name of epicureans;
likewise those who deny the Torah and the Prophets of Israel—the law is
that all those should be killed; and those who have the power of life
and death should have them killed; and if this cannot be done, they
should be led to their death by deceptive methods."

Rabbi Maimonides, in Hilkhoth Teschubhah (III,8) gives the list of those
who are considered as denying the Law:

"There are three classes of people who deny the Law of the Torah:
(1) Those who say that the Torah was not given by God, at least one
verse or one word of it, and who say that it was all the work of Moses;
(2) Those who reject the explanation of the Torah, namely, the Oral Law
of the Mischnah, and do not recognize the authority of the Doctors of
the Law, like the followers of Tsadok (Sadducees) and Baithos; (3) Those
who say that God changed the Law for another New Law, and that the Torah
no longer has any value, although they do not deny that it was given by
God, as the Christians and the Turks believe. All of these deny the Law
of the Torah."

III. CHRISTIANS ARE TO BE KILLED BECAUSE THEY ARE TYRANTS

In Zohar (I,25a) it says:

"The People of the Earth are idolaters, and it has been written
about them: Let them be wiped off the face of the earth. Destroy the
memory of the Amalekites. They are with us still in this Fourth
Captivity, namely, the Princes [of Rome] . . . who are really Amalakites."

1. THESE PRINCES ARE TO BE KILLED FIRST

For if they are allowed to live, the hope of the liberation of the Jews
is in vain, and their prayers for release from this Fourth Captivity are
of no avail. In Zohar (I,219B) it says:

"It is certain that our captivity will last until the princes of
the gentiles who worship idols are destroyed."

And again in Zohar (II,19a) it says:

"Rabbi Jehuda said: Come and see how it is; how the princes have
assumed power over Israel and the Israelites make no outcry. But their
rejoicing is heard when the prince falls. It is written that: the King
of the Egyptians died and soon the children of Israel were released from
captivity; they cried out and their voice ascended to God."

2. THE PRINCEDOM WHOSE CHIEF CITY IS ROME IS THE ONE TO BE HATED MOST OF
ALL BY THE JEWS

They call it the Kingdom of Esau, and of the Edomites, the Kingdom of
Pride, the Wicked Kingdom, Impious Rome. The Turkish Empire is called
the Kingdom of the Ismaelites which they do not wish to destroy. The
Kingdom of Rome, however, must be exterminated, because when corrupt
Rome is destroyed, salvation and freedom will come to God’s Chosen
People.(5)

     (5) cf. Synag. Jud. ch.X, p.212.

Rabbi David Kimchi writes as follows in Obadiam:

"What the Prophets foretold about the destruction of Edom in the
last days was intended for Rome, as Isaiah explains (ch. 34,1): Come
near, ye nations, to hear . . . For when Rome is destroyed, Israel shall
be redeemed."

Rabbi Abraham also, in his book Tseror Hammor, section Schoftim, says
the same:

"Immediately after Rome is destroyed we shall be redeemed."

IV. LASTLY, ALL CHRISTIANS, INCLUDING THE BEST OF THEM, ARE TO BE KILLED

In Abhodah Zarah (26b, Tosephoth) it says:

"Even the best of the Goim should be killed"

The Schulchan Arukh, after the words of Iore Dea (158, 1) that those of
the Akum who do no harm to Jews are not to be killed, namely those who
do not wage war against Israel, thus explains the word Milchamah—war:

"But in time of war the Akum are to be killed, for it is written:
‘The good among the Akum deserve to be killed, etc.’ "

V. A JEW WHO KILLS A CHRISTIAN COMMITS NO SIN, BUT OFFERS AN ACCEPTABLE
SACRIFICE TO GOD

In Sepher Or Israel (177b) it says:

"Take the life of the Kliphoth and kill them, and you will please
God the same as one who offers incense to Him."

And in Ialkut Simoni (245c. n. 772) it says:

"Everyone who sheds the blood of the impious is as acceptable to
God as he who offers a sacrifice to God."

VI. AFTER THE DESTRUCTION OF THE TEMPLE AT JERUSALEM, THE ONLY SACRIFICE
NECESSARY IS THE EXTERMINATION OF CHRISTIANS

In Zohar (III,227b) the Good Pastor says:

"The only sacrifice required is that we remove the unclean from
amongst us."

Zohar (II, 43a), explaining the precept of Moses about the redemption of
the first born of an ass by offering a lamb, says:

"The ass means the non-Jew, who is to be redeemed by the offering
of a lamb, which is the dispersed sheep of Israel. But if he refuses to
be redeemed, then break his skull….They should be taken out of the
book of the living, for it is said about them: He who sins against me, I
shall take out of the book of life."

VII. THOSE WHO KILL CHRISTIANS SHALL HAVE A HIGH PLACE IN HEAVEN

In Zohar (I,38b, and 39a) it says:

"In the palaces of the fourth heaven are those who lamented over
Sion and Jerusalem, and all those who destroyed idolatrous nations …
and those who killed off people who worship idols are clothed in purple
garments so that they may be recognized and honored."

VIII. JEWS MUST NEVER CEASE TO EXTERMINATE THE GOIM; THEY MUST NEVER
LEAVE THEM IN PEACE AND NEVER SUBMIT TO THEM

In Hilkhoth Akum (X, 1) it says:

     "Do not eat with idolaters, nor permit them to worship their idols;
for it is written: Make no covenant with them, nor show mercy unto them
(Deuter. ch. 7, 2). Either turn away from their idols or kill them."

Ibidem (X,7):

"In places where Jews are strong, no idolater must be allowed to
remain…"

IX. ALL JEWS ARE OBLIGED TO UNITE TOGETHER TO DESTROY TRAITORS AMONG THEM

In Choschen Hamm. (338,16) it says:

"All the inhabitants of a city are obliged to contribute to the
expense of killing a traitor, even those who have to pay other taxes."

X. NO FESTIVAL, NO MATTER HOW SOLEMN, MUST PREVENT THE BEHEADING OF A
CHRISTIAN

In Pesachim (49b) it says:

"Rabbi Eliezer said: It is permitted to cut off the head of an
‘idiot’ [one of the People of the Earth] on the feast of the Atonement
when it falls on the Sabbath.(6) His disciples said to him: Rabbi, you
should rather say to sacrifice. But he replied: By no means, for it is
necessary to pray while sacrificing, and there is no need of prayers
when you behead someone."

     (6) No day more holy than this could be imagined.

XI. THE ONE OBJECT OF ALL THE ACTIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE JEWS SHOULD BE
TO DESTROY THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION

Thus the Jews picture their Messiah and Liberator whom they expect, as a
persecutor who will inflict great calamities upon non-Jews. The Talmud
lists three great evils which will come upon the world when the Messiah
comes. In Schabbath (118a) it says:

"Whoever eats three meals on the Sabbath shall be saved from the
three evils: from the punishments of the Messiah, from the pain of hell
and from the war of Magog; for it is written: Behold, I shall send you
Elias the Prophet before the coming of the ‘Day’ of the Lord, etc."

XII. IN THEIR PRAYERS THE JEWS SIGH FOR THE COMING OF THE REVENGEFUL
MESSIAH, ESPECIALLY ON THE EVE OF THE PASSOVER:

"Pour out thy anger upon the nations that know thee not, and upon
the kingdoms which do not invoke thy name; Pour out thy indignation upon
them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them; Persecute and
destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the Lord."(7)

     (7) cf. Sanhedrin, chap. VII near the end, and Iebhammoth, the last
chap.

They also pray as follows:

"How long will thy strength remain captive and thy beauty lie under
the hand of the oppressor? O God! Show forth thy strength and

Jailed for truth telling

In Germany, Horst Mahler Sentenced to Six Years in Prison for
`Holocaust Denial’
The Associated Press
http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2009/02/25/europe/EU-Germany-Holocaust…

A founding member of a left-wing terrorist group turned neo-Nazi was
convicted Wednesday in Munich of Holocaust denial and sentenced to six
years in prison after a judge accused him of using the courtroom to
spread his message of hate. Horst Mahler, a founder of the Red Army
Faction in 1970, was convicted of incitement for posting videos
denying the Holocaust on the Internet and distributing CDs promoting
anti-Jewish hatred and violence. Denial of the Nazi Holocaust is a
crime in Germany.

Saudi Arabia and China have pledged to work together to reform the world financial system

China to boost relations with GCC: President Hu
Ghazanfar Ali Khan | Arab News

RIYADH:Saudi Arabia and China have pledged to work together to reform
the world financial system . “Riyadh and Beijing have agreed to keep
close contacts with a view to reforming the global financial
institutions,” said Chinese President Hu Jintao after talks with Gulf
Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Abdul Rahman Al-Attiyah.

Beijing also seeks to expand its ties with Gulf states within the
framework of a new vision of bilateral relations that has been set out
by the two blocs: the GCC and China. “Beijing would like to boost
links with the six-nation GCC in all sectors,” Hu said.

A keen desire to boost Sino-GCC relations and a plan for joint efforts
with the Kingdom to ensure better functioning of the global system
figured prominently during Hu’s talks with senior Saudi and GCC
officials yesterday. The global crisis was also discussed with
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah on Tuesday night.

“The international situation is undergoing profound changes. In
particular, the global financial crisis has posed severe challenges to
us,” said the Chinese leader.

Saudi Arabia and China will work closer at the G-20 Summit to be held
on April 2, he added. Both countries are members of G-20, which is
working on an ambitious plan to draft and adopt new rules and measures
to confront the new challenges amid global financial crisis,
especially new accounting, auditing and banks’ reporting rules.

Hu said that China and Saudi Arabia should step up coordination, work
more closely on trade and investment, jointly respond to and guard
against financial risks, in an effort to ensure the two countries’
economic and financial stability. On the second day of his visit
yesterday, the Chinese leader also visited Riyadh Cement Company,
which has just contracted China’s Sinoma International Engineering to
expand its production lines.

Hu also met with the Chinese Embassy staff, members of the local
Chinese community and representatives of several Chinese companies
here yesterday. Referring to his talks with GCC chief Al-Attiyah, Hu
said that trade liberalization measures topped the agenda of the
talks, while trade, investment and energy relations were discussed in
detail.

“In recent years, friendship between China and GCC member states has
also witnessed comprehensive development,” said a statement obtained
by Arab News yesterday.

Later, the Chinese leader visited the King Abdulaziz City for Science
and Technology (KACST), where a group of Chinese scientists are
working on a research project, studying the gene of dates.

“The project is a symbol of cooperation between the two countries in
the sector of science and technology,” an official in Hu’s delegation
said.

KACST has direct cooperation with many international scientific
bodies, which also include the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).

In fact, a 20-member team from CAS is working with their Saudi
counterparts on such projects as date-planting and camel-gene research
at the moment, said a KACST official.

KACST has also signed a memorandum of understanding with Huawei
Technologies, China’s leading telecommunications equipment
manufacturer, to strengthen cooperation in telecom technology and
personnel training, he added.

Mohammed, who has been to China twice, is now expecting his third
trip to Beijing in April, where he will attend an international
academic conference.

The 58-year-old science advisor to Saudi Arabian King Abdullah bin
Abdul-Aziz started learning Chinese two years ago.

"When President Hu shakes hands with me, I will greet him in
Chinese: Welcome to Saudi Arabia," Mohammed told Xinhua.

Saudi Arabia is the first leg of Hu’s five-nation tour. The trip
will also take him to Mali, Senegal, Tanzania and Mauritius.

Problem is most of the governments of the world are controlled by the Zionists.
Because the Zionists control the currencies of the world.

The Zionist controlled governments are walking a tightrope between those they have
brainwashed and bribed – "moderates" – versus those they have not.  The latter they
call "terrorists," "extremists," "mentally insane," and so forth.

The best thing for Europe to do is to embrace the "extremist" Moslems and everyone
else who are militantly anti Zionist.  Stop persecuting anti Zionists.  And start
persecuting the Zionists with extreme malice.  Start with the Bilderbergs and the
Rothschilds.  Kill them dead on sight.  Wipe them out.  Destroy everything they have
ever touched.  Wipe out their banks.  Wipe out their currencies.  Kill them all.

Europe’s biggest problem is the Zionists.  Same problem that every country in the
world has.  The biggest problem in the world.  The Zionist Problem.

Wipe Israel off the map.  Problem solved.

A Tunnel between Gaza and the West Bank

A Tunnel between Gaza and the West Bank

There exists a widespread consent outside and even inside of Israel,
that peace in the Near East will never be possible without the
existence an economically viable Palestine. And even though the
President of the United States has maintained a wise but deafening
public silence on the last escalation of violence, I have no doubt
whatsoever that he is fully aware of this fundamental circumstance as
well.

Now I won´t get into the surprising fact that Israel, with respect to
the West Bank and despite of claiming otherwise, appears to be working
rather in exactly the opposite direction, and in a manner which could
adequately be denominated as a "clandestine jewish yihad"(*1). But at
any rate, from the rational point of view economic viability is more
important than territorial integrity(*2), unless the territory
available is inadequate for the first purpose. And the objective of
this article is not to place the blame exclusively on either one or
the other side – but solely to be constructive and practical.

Gaza is a somewhat different matter than the West Bank, and another
point of widespread consent is, that Gaza has represented and keeps
representing the most virulent aspect of the Near East conflict. And
unfortunately, this is only natural: The economical hinterland of Gaza
is Israel rather than the West Bank. And Israel has blockaded the
border crossings with Gaza since the begin of the Second Intifada
(Oct. 2000) to a varying but always severe degree, in order to prevent
the entry of suicide bombers in its territory. The Kassam rockets
started to fly about one year later, and became a serious threat –
especially in Sderot – after the Hamas takeover of Gaza (*3).

The effects of this blockade in Gaza are well known. But a more or
less free exchange of merchandise between Gaza and Israel would mean a
free transit of at least those, who transport that merchandise. And
this would inevitably lead to the entry of suicide bombers into
Israel. A single suicide bomber can kill more civilians than Kassam
rockets could in 3 years. And it is not to be expected, that the
number of potential palestinian suicide bombers is going to decrease
significantly in the forseeable future.

As long as the Kassam rockets keep flying, there will be air strikes.
Whether the new Iron Dome defense system against short range rockets
and artillery shells, now in development, will bring relief to Israel
and thus to Gaza as well, remains to be seen. But even if the Kassam
rockets would stop to fly or become irrelevant, this still wouldn´t
mean that Israel would open its border with Gaza, because the danger
of suicide bombers entering it would remain.

Thus, the idea of Gaza recuperating Israel as its economical
hinterland is illusory for the moment. But without such a hinterland
Gaza will remain the poorest of palestinian poorhouses, a jail for its
inhabitants, and thus a radicalizing breeding ground of terrorists
forever.

As of right now, there is absolutely nothing positive, which Gaza
could offer to Israel. But Palestine isn´t Gaza, and the West Bank
could ideed profit greatly from Gaza, if  …. if Gaza would obtain a
seaport, if it would have its airport restored – and if Gaza and the
West Bank were somehow located differently on the map, i.e. if they
were not phisically separated from each other by Israel. In such a
case Gaza, due to its access to the sea, would naturally convert
itself into the economical motor of Palestine.

I have never read about the arguments, which Israel uses to protest
against the construction of a seaport in Gaza. So I can´t argue them.
What appears clear to me though, is that the existence or nonexistence
of a seaport in Gaza should not significantly affect Israel´s capacity
to blockade it.

So what to do about the physical separation of Gaza and the West Bank?
The answer ought to be obvious and it has been debated for a while
(*4), the last time around in the campaign of this year´s parlamentory
elections, when Ehud Barak promised the construction of a tunnel
between Gaza and the West Bank. Specifically, he proposed a tunnel
under full palestinian control, i.e. having both entrances on
palestinian territory, between Bayt Hanun (Gaza) and Dura (West Bank),
giving it a price tag of about 2 to 3 billion USD (*5). By comparison,
the British Channel Tunnel or Eurotunnel cost around 6.6 billion USD
(*6).

But even though it might appear that in principle Barak has been on
the right track with this proposal – extraordinary problems tend to
require extraordinary solutions -, his proposal would likely have been
more expensive to realize than he thought and was perhaps even
inrealistic from an engineering standpoint (see further below). And
last not least, it ought to have been seen as an unacceptable security
risk by the majority of the population of Israel.

On one hand, the price of drilling such a tunnel would be directly
proportional to its dimensions, and as far as I know Barak hasn´t said
anything about how many car lanes and/or rail tracks his tunnel would
contain. The Eurotunnel has two railway tracks and one central service
and rescue tunnel. But above all, the construction of such a tunnel
would mean the replacement(?) of the many uncontrolled microtunnels
between Gaza and Egypt by one large uncontrolled tunnel between Gaza
and the West Bank, with its correspondent possibilities of a then
legal weapons transport – instead of just smuggling them. No Likud
lead government would ever go for that. Unfortunately but perhaps
naturally, we have seen a continuous process of mutual radicalization
between Palestine and Israel since the beginning of the Second
Intifada. In fact, I wonder to which extent the tunnel proposal of
Ehud Barak might have promoted the demise of the Labour Party in the
last elections.

Nonetheless and in spite of everything, it can be shown that the
tunnel proposal is in principle and logically correct. Nonetheless,
such a tunnel would have to be built in such a manner, that
A) the security risk would be controlable by and thus acceptable to
Israel, and that
B) the Palestinians would get a lot to loose, which would naturally be
the case if such a tunnel existed. As things stand right now, the
palestinian inhabitants of Gaza have nothing to loose but a miserable
"life".

In summary, such a tunnel could mean the unimpeded or next to
inimpeded movement of merchandise as well as of people between Gaza
and the West Bank without the danger of palestinian suicide bombers
entering on israeli territory, thus ending the isolation of Gaza as
well as providing the West Bank with an access to the Mediterranean
Sea – and hopefully a seaport. As of right now, the Palestinian
infrastructure is ridiculous, and worsened by extensive roadblocks.
And Palestine does not have one single operational airport.

There is only one way to make such a tunnel controlable by Israel, and
that is to place both of its entrances on Israel´s territory – but
next to the palestinian border. If the israeli government would happen
to feel that it needs to block that tunnel, it would do so no matter
what. And if it blocks the tunnel, then it better does so without
destroying it, so it can be reopened more quickly. A tunnel with one
or both of its entrances not under israeli control would be a tunnel
destined for a short lifetime.

And should there ever come the day of not only peace but even trust
between Israel and Palestine, then the tunnel could always be enlarged
by a few hundred meters on each end in order to have its entrances on
palestinian territory. In the case of a tunnel of a type as described
below, such a modification should not present a major problem.

In what follows, I will present an alternative tunnel project to that
of Ehud Barak, which should be able to satisfy the above mentioned
conditions. Due to their geographical positions with respect to each
other, I will designate the two tunnel projects as the "northern
tunnel" (Barak) and the "southern tunnel" (alternative). And I will
not put a price tag on the southern alternative, but from what follows
it ought to become clear that it will be much cheaper than the
northern one.

The length of the southern tunnel would be 42km on a straight line
between tunnel entrances. By comparison, the Eurotunnel has a length
of 47.9km on a straight line between tunnel entrances (internal length
is 50km).

In order to be able to serve as an effective economical lifeline
between Gaza and the West Bank, the southern tunnel ought to contain
at least 6 lanes, i.e. two for cars and one railway track (Gaza –
Hebron) in each direction, plus the obligatory central service and
rescue tunnel. Accessory tubes for air supply and extraction would run
on top of the main tunnel (for security reasons, the tunnel should not
have unprotected ventilation openings along its track on Israel´s
territory, but should be supplied with air exclusively from its
entrances), and those for pipelines (gas, oil, etc.) and cables
(power, telephone) would run below the main tunnel.

The eastern tunnel entrance ought to be around 31º20´32´´N 34º55´48´´E
at an elevation of  399m above mean sea level (AMSL), close to the
Meitar border crossing, where it would connect with Route 60 to
Hebron.

The western tunnel entrance could be around 31º29´55´´N 34º31´42´´E,
at an elevation of 63m AMSL.

Fortunately, the area where the tunnel would have to be constructed is
essentially a plain rising smoothly towards the east, exept for two
hills not named in Google Earth on the last 12km before reaching the
eastern entrance. So up to this point, it ought to be possible to
construct the tunnel within a trench which is following the average
surface profile. Of the two hills, only the western one would have to
be drilled under, and the eastern one could be surrounded excavating
around its southern tip.

Going eastward from the western entrance at 31º29´55´´N 34º31´42´´E,
the southern tunnel would pass between Kfar Aza and Mefalsim, south of
Yahini, north of Zru´a, south of Nir Akiva, north of Klahim, then turn
to pass southwest of Sde Tsvi, continue between Shoval and Huzayil,
pass northeast of Rahat and Lehavim, tunnel below the above mentioned
western hill east of Lehavim – tunnel length about 4km – to almost the
turnoff point of Route 358 from Route 31 between Lehavim and Laqiya,
and then turn around the southern tip of the eastern hill north of
Laqiya/Abu´Ammar to pass north of Kramim and end at 31º20´32´´N 34º55
´48´´E, close to the Meitar border crossing (a 141m long water basin
here would have to be relocated). This might cause a few temporarily
upset farmers, but in the end it would be as if nothing ever happened,
exept for the frequent but discreet emergency exits for people (see
below).

If we assume the above route, then the internal tunnel length of the
southern tunnel would amount to a total of about 44.2km, but only
about 4km or 9% of its trajectory would actually have to be drilled,
the rest of it could simply be constructed within a trench extracted
by ordinary bucket-wheel excavators instead of within a cavity drilled
through rock. Depending upon the means employed, constucting the
southern tunnel might take less than a third of the time it took to
construct the Eurotunnel (6 years).

For the purpose of comparison, let´s assume that the northern tunnel
would have its western entrance at 31º32´29´´N 34º33´15´´E at an
elevation of 72m AMSL, and its eastern entrance at 31º30´17´´N 35º01´53
´´E at 843m AMSL (since Dura is situated at the western edge of a high
plateau, the tunnel entrance must be placed on its eastern side). The
distance on a straight line between tunnel entrances would then amount
to 45.5km.

On the first 24.6km of its eastward trajectory, this tunnel should be
able to be constructed within a trench just like the southern tunnel,
and its trench could be excavated essentially on a straight line
towards Dura without having to avoid any villages. But from about 31º31
´18´´N 34º48´45´´E on (at 218m AMSL) it would have to be drilled for
the last 20.9km, which would amount to 46% of the total tunnel length
being constructed within a drilled cavity. And nobody exept – perhaps
– Ehud Barak knows, how many lanes he planned to put into that
tunnel.

So in spite of the great width of the southern tunnel (6+1 lanes, see
above), the fact that it would be built in order to overcome political
rather than geographical obstacles should actually lead to a lower
average cost per kilometer than in the case of the Eurotunnel. Due to
the rather insignificant external pressure on the tunnel it would
allow for little internal reinforcement and therefore a relatively
close spacing of its lanes. Thus, the tunnel could have a rectangular
cross section, and a tunnel width of about 32m ought to suffice in the
case of a 7 lane tunnel.

As far as road tunnels are concerned, the southern tunnel would be by
far the longest one in the world. The present record is at 24.5km
(*7). This would require its roof and walls to be painted in a manner
which prevents the rapid tiring of drivers, as well as two or three
spots along its route where the tunnel would have large lateral
extensions which contain underground rest areas (thus, the railroad
tracks would have to run on the inside lanes, between the car lanes
and the rescue tunnel). At the little depth at which the tunnel is
located, the addition of these rest areas would not mean much more
than the construction of just another underground parking lot, exept
that in these ones there would be a snack bar and a gas station – and
perhaps a police office as well.

Fire danger would of course be an issue, so in distinction from other
road tunnels there should exist a sufficient amount of emergency exits
for people to the surface from the rescue tunnel, which – again due to
the little depth at which the tunnel would be constructed – should not
present any engineering problem.

From the technological point of view, digging a trech for such a
tunnel is no major feat today: A trench of 40km length, 32m width and
13m depth would contain 16,640,000 cubic meters of soil. The largest
bucket-wheel excavators can remove up to 5000 cubic meters of earth
per hour (the equivalent of a cube with edges of 17m length – see *8),
so a single one of them theoretically could dig the entire trench in a
mere 139 days if it would work non-stop (not taking into account its
transport around the western hill, among other things). But such large
machines – the largest land vehicles on Earth – would not be needed
for this job, especially if one digs the trench from both ends
simultaneously.

For the sake of comparison: The speed of drilling a tunnel through
rock naturally depends on what type of rock one encounters, and the
drilling speed can vary drastically within the same tunnel. The highly
eroded surface shaped into agricultural terraces of the mountain
slopes west of Dura indicates the presence of soft rock. According to
one promotional webpage(*9), "the right choice for brittle or soft
rock" are Single Shield tunnel boring machines (TBMs). A tunnel
drilled with such a TBM is the Islisberg Tunnel in Kanton Zurich/
Switzerland, with a diameter of 11.81m. The average excavation
velocity in this tunnel has been 67 cubic meters of rock per hour.
According to that same page, varying rock formations are best drilled
with a Double Shield TBM, as in the case of the Guadarrama Tunnel/
Spain (diam. 9.51m). The top average weekly excavation velocity here
is above 85 cubic meters per hour. Hard rock is best drilled with a
Gripper TBM, according to that page. An example would be the Maurice
Lemaire Tunnel/France (diam. 6m). The top average weekly excavation
velocity in this tunnel has been 39 cubic meters per hour, and the top
average daily excavation velocity was 65 cubic meters per hour (*10).

The above should suffice to illustrate the difference between digging
a trench through soil and drilling a tube through rock. Digging is far
more efficient than drilling and thus also cheaper. So the southern
alternative to Barak´s tunnel is not only politically, but also
technically and economically the more realistic proposal.

The Eurotunnel had been paid for by private enterprise, and by
companies from only two nations (Britain and France), while a tunnel
between Gaza and the West Bank ought to be of widespread international
concern. Besides that, by contributing to pacify the Near East the
Great Gaza Tunnel would count as one of the big achievements of
humankind in more than just the engineering sense. And since the
construction of such a tunnel would not do any harm to anybody (the
affected israeli farmers should be temporarily compensated), it should
be constructed as a temptation for peace even if a present war
situation would not allow its immediate use.

*1: .. since Israel´s conduct in the West Bank is obviously based on a
mixture of religious and nationalist concepts, comparable for example
to the radical Moslem´s wish to reconquer Spain. Arguments based on
national security are no longer valid, since after the foundation of a
palestine state Jordania is not likely to ever want to reclaim the
West Bank. Except for Jericho, the eastern part of the West Bank is de
facto israeli.

Do Americans Get “The Truth”?

Do Americans Get “The Truth”?

By Timothy V. Gatto
21 February, 2009

The simple fact is that the truth is out there, but most Americans are
just too lazy or too ignorant to find it. These days have been filled
with “media” reports on Israel and the Palestinians and the conflict
there. We have also have been barraged by this same “media” about the
prospect of Israel attacking Iran. If a casual reader were to read all
of the “mainstream media” reports on the Israeli/Palestinian and the
Israel/Iranian events, one could conceivably come away with the mindset
that Israel is a country that just wants to survive and is a “good and
forthright ally of America”. In reality, this is nothing like the truth.
The truth is what’s behind the motivations of our “good friend and ally,
Israel”.

If any Americans wished to understand what motivated a nation to attack
another nation, two things would usually come to the forefront. The
first would be what is the history behind the conflict? The second would
more than likely be what kind of government do the countries in conflict
have? Here in America, this is a very important consideration. Most of
Americans want to support a democratically elected government that
treats its people with dignity and respect. We tend to frown on nations
that are dictatorships that mistreat their people. The history of the
conflict is usually very important to us. A nation that prefers force
over negotiation, a nation that has been belligerent towards other
nations is not usually favored by Americans.

Of course, the government of America has at times misrepresented the
facts in order to sway its citizens into choosing to support a nation or
a cause that the government feels is in its best interests. Sometimes
powerful people have exerted pressure on the government to support one
side or another in order to make a profit. In this day of instant
information, some citizens believe that they have unfettered access to
impartial, real-time information. This of course is pure fiction.
Especially in the United States of all places, the “media” is generally
incapable of reporting truthfully in matters that don’t generally follow
the official government policy. A good case in point is the build-up to
the war in Iraq. It was nearly impossible to find any information that
wasn’t government-generated, and the information that was based on
independent sources was usually ignored. This same scenario is alive and
well when the “media” reports on Israel.

First of all, the government of Israel has become a bellicose,
right-wing dominated organization that denies its Arab citizens the
right to make policy or carry leadership positions. According to Stephen
Lendman (Fascist Rule in Israel-ICH 20 Feb2009): “Under the law for
Arabs and Jews, no candidate may challenge Israel’s fundamental Jewish
character or demand equal rights, privileges, and justice. The essential
Zionist identity is inviolable. The law works only for Jews. Israeli
Arabs have no rights. They’re denied equal treatment and justice, even
those elected to public office. Israel calls this democracy. South
Africa called it apartheid. Nazi Germany called it fascism”.

The real news is out there for all Americans. The Real News Network
( http://therealnews.com ) is available on the internet for those that
want their news in video format, and there are news sources like
Information Clearinghouse and others that want the real truth. News
today must be free of government subsidies or corporate control. The
truth about Israel’s bellicose nature is quite evident from
international news sources. We can’t as a nation use the bible as a
source for the nature of Israel’s claims on foreign territory or use the
holocaust as an excuse for Israel’s wholesale slaughter of Palestinians.
While Israel claims it doesn’t want Iran to build nuclear weapons,
Israel has hundreds and hasn’t even signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation
Treaty. Why should Israel threaten war on a nation that has signed the
Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, when it finds itself a nuclear rogue
state? The fact that Israel used white phosphorus against Palestinian
non-combatants does not bode well for Israel’s future compliance with
International Law. This kind of news is what should be on our “media”.
Too bad you won’t find it there.

Christian Zionist Joel C. Rosenberg and the new media attack on Iran

Under The Radar Media
Christian Zionist Joel C. Rosenberg and the new media attack on Iran

In August of 2006, alternative radio talk show host Alex Jones
interviewed Joel C. Rosenberg, the author of a series of apocalyptic
novels dealing with alleged Muslim plots to destroy Israel and America
and ultimately bring about the destruction of the world. In light of
Benjamin Netanyahu’s emergence as the winner of the Israeli elections, I
have decided to post this interview to give you a perspective on the
revived media push to bring the subject of Iran’s alleged nuclear
weapons program back into the mainstream.

Rosenberg, who is a leading figure in the Christian Zionist movement,
regularly appears on all the network news outlets to promote his books.
He writes for several conservative and neoconservative websites like the
influential National Review (read his fearmongering article Apocalypse
Now)  and he is also a guest speaker in churches around the US and the
world to promote the dangerous relationship between Christians and the
state of Israel.

While Rosenberg is a well known figure, there is scant information about
him on the internet. Popular figures in media and politics will
generally have a Wikipedia page with a short bio, and although Rosenberg
has such a page, it doesn’t state his date and place of birth nor does
it name any of his relatives or next of kin. His web page has a similar
bio with a little more general information, but not much with regards to
his background or past history.

The only thing that can be said about Rosenberg was that he worked as an
aid to influential  leaders in Israel such as former Israeli Deputy
Prime Minister Natan Sharansky and former Israeli Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu. Rosenberg claims to be “a failed political
consultant,” so I find it very puzzling as to how an American with no
documented political or military background, who is a Christian no less,
acquire a seemingly random opportunuity to work for hard line  Zionist
extremists from Israel’s Likud party.

On January 13, 2009, Rosenberg, along with a host of neoconservative
columnist and bloggers, was able to sit in on a 25 minute conference
call with Netanyhu to get the Israeli version of the IDF’s incursion
into Gaza, presumably for future propaganda purposes. Here are some of
Netanyahu’s statements:

This is a classic case of justice pitted against injustice,
against the forces of darkness.

He continued:

Our fight with Hamas is with terrorists who have backers in Iran
and have shown the willingness to use any methods including firing
rockets on innocent civilians….Israel is now the front line in the
battle between militant Islam and the rest of the world – witness what
has happened [in terms of terrorist attacks in recent years] in Iraq,
Afghanistan, Lebanon, Mumbai, New York, Washington….and there are
enormous global consequences. Does Iran have a victory in one of its two
forward outposts?

You may recall that back in late 2007 the IAEA reported that while Iran
did have a nuclear weapons program, the program was disbanded and as of
2003, there was no evidence that Iran had restarted the program. And
just like Iraq’s fictitious WMD program, that didn’t stop the Bush
administration from continuing to lie about Iran’s weapons program even
though the  White House was briefed that such a weapons program was non
existent.

On February 19, 2009, the headlines blared, “Iran holds enough uranium
for one bomb” , and as usual, the focus was not on the fact that there
is still no evidence that Iran has an actual nuclear weapon’s program.

UN officials emphasise that to produce fissile material Iran would
have to reconfigure its Natanz plant to produce high enriched uranium
rather than low enriched uranium – a highly visible step that would take
months – or to shift its stockpile to a clandestine site.

No such sites have been proved to exist, although for decades Iran
concealed evidence of its nuclear programme.
