McCain supporters act like religious cultists but without the ethics
By JOHN LORENZ
The values of the Republican Party lately seem to be "anti-values" and do not stand for
anything positive. They have become real nihilists masquerading behind phony patriotism and
reform. They intend neither.
Is this the kind of President and Vice President McCain voters want? Two people who run an
angry and derisive, insulting, lie-laced campaign? Ones who cover up and lie about their
records and policies while distorting the stances taken by their opponents, instead of talking
issues and differences of opinion? Do they want a repeat of these last eight years after all
our coujtry has seen happen?
The only thing one can conclude is that McCain voters must be a political, quasi-religious
cult, of knee-jerk, brainwashed followers who will use underhanded tactics, dirty tricks,
savage attacks that tell the public lies in order to win by crook since they can’t win by hook
with strength of ideas. If the news media would report on things fairly, the whole country
would see that their party is intellectually and morally bankrupt. But with the media’s help,
the Repubicans can have it both ways. They can talk loftily of bipartisanship, then allow
their team to savage their opponents with things that aren’t even true..
One would think they wouldn’t do this since this is precisely how Mr. Bush destroyed McCain’s
candidacy in the 2000 primaries, with the help of the Karl Rove’s team that Mr. McCain now uses
to run his own campaign.
McCain voters put party first ahead of America or they wouldn’t be trying to turn our national
need to discuss real bread and butter issues into a carnival of partisan rancor. Sarah Palin
and John McCain refuse to simply debate differences of opinion or explain policies or define
ideals.
McCain people often comment that those who write posts against Sarah Palin "must be scared."
Well I am and here’s why.
Actions speak louder than words. Does anyone in their right mind think that 60 days is enough
to know Palin as a candidate? Even in office, Palin is an unknown. You’ve had 36 years to know
Biden, 12 years to know Obama, 25 years to know McCain, 18 Months to know Palin.
Actions speak louder than words. What do Palin’s mischaracterization of the Democrats
positions and her unnecessarily vicious, lying attacks show about her? They show that Sarah
Palin is a cynical and politically calculated pick for VP who was picked because McCain puts
himself ahead of the USA. This woman cannot stand in for president. Even after a week of
scandal reports coming out about her from Alaska, nobody knows her, she hasn’t been fully
vetted. I shudder to think of her coming to power in the spot occupied by Dick Cheney now.
She holds radical views (creationism in schools, global warming is a hoax, Alaskan
independence, anti-choice), she is under an ethics investigation for abuse of power, and she
needs to cite her proximity to another country as foreign policy experience.
If by some slim margin of chance McCain makes it into the white house only to die and go to
that great POW camp in the sky, or be incapacitated then America gets an academic
under-achiever, a small time, limited experience sports-caster, a PTA mom and so-called beauty
queen and half a term as governor to become leader of the free world. You bet I’m scared and
you should be too.
She lies about her past. Palin was for the Bridge to Nowhere before she was forced to be
against it, but she tried to pass herself off as having been always against it. She didn’t
tell anyone that Alaska still accepts federal money from it…
She claims to be a reformer but accepted numerous earmarks and pork. She claims to share the
values of middle America, but she is pro book-banning, pro teaching creationism in schools, she
wants roe v wade overturned, she required loyalty oaths, called the invasion of iraq a task
from god and she has used her power both as mayor and now as governor for personal, often
vindictive ends
She’s a racist, having referred to Barack Obama as ‘Sambo’ and Hillary Clinton as a ‘bitch’.
She’s wacko, and because the media won’t report it, it will probably never become clear to
independents.
She claims to be anti-big oil, but she pressured BP to give her jobless hubby a job with BP.
How can she be anti-big oil when her hubby works for them?
If it weren’t so serious a matter, it would be comical to see robotic parrots among the
McCain supporters spouting their party line, truth be damned. Sarah Palin, is another
"praise-the-Lord-hypocrite" who allows her family to be dragged through the mud, sacrificed on
the altar of her ambition.
It’s illogical at best and at worst a lie. McCain was a fool to have picked this woman with
only one day’s vetting. He is 1 year older than his dad was when he died and 10 years older
than his grandad was. This woman will become POTUS when McCain croaks.. He has with this pick
demonstrated very poor judgement when WW3 is at stake. Thermonuclear war. Palin has had a
scandal a day since last week and there are 60 days left to the election.
The Alaska Independence Party is praised by Neo-Nazis on their website and she was a member as
was her husband. The founder of that party stated that
(quote)”The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American
government."(close quote)
McCain has proven with this pick that he’s sold his maverick soul to get votes from the bushies
and radical right wing. This is the opposite of the sort of campaign John McCain promised to
run. So the question still remains, just HOW could Republicans want to elect someone as corrupt
as John McCain and as arrogant as Sarah Palin and actually see none of their hypocrisy?
The press will NOT report on McCain’s having ties to all sorts of dirty dealers like Abramoff,
Donald R. Diamond, Joe Bonano, the crime boss, Charlie Black, the neocon lobbyist who works on
McCain staff and his lobbyist associate of Randy Scheuneman and Ralph Reed, as well as the now
prison-bound Jack Abramoff.
All that the Republican Party want to do is turn the truth inside out and just bash Obama,
instead of running on issues and running a decent campaign.
All we hear from the Republicans is refusal to flesh out their policies (they are the same as
George W.Bush’s) just harping on their militarism, their hypocritical claim to values they
really don’t even have, and their policies that amount to giving even more money to the rich.
McCain people want to elect a man and a party devoid of ideas on how to face the future.
They don’t want integrity, but rather image over substance. Look around.
Does any sane, reasonable person want more of our continuing desperate situation for the next
four years, and possibly nuclear war?
The Republicans anymore act like Jim Jones cultists on right-wing Kool Aid. They must really
must have something wrong with their value system and their upbringing.
