For what? Getting shot with a gun in America is the exact same
statistical deal as getting hit by lightning or eaten by a shark, ten
or twelve thousand people a year out of 250 million, and half of them
are suicides. When are you going to have a million mom march against
shark attacks?

Here we have the politics of sensation. Why should grown men and women pay
any attention to what a few thousand people organized to focus on a single
issue have to say??? Sure, we should look at their arguments and supporting
evidence and consider it.
But why should be take the sensationalism of a big old march as some sort
of proof that these people are right? The Communists and the Nazis had lots
of big marches – did this prove they had the best policies?
The fact that the liberal mainstream media will make this into a major event
just shows their bias. Do you think the media will spend equal time on
counter arguments?
This just shows how shallow politics has become in America on many issues.

I think the Federalist hit the nail on the head last week:
…And a final note about that federal agent whose MP-5 was pointed in
Elian’s direction during the raid, Janet Reno claims, "If you look
carefully [the agent's] finger was not on the trigger and the safety
was engaged." One might infer from her comment that guns, even when
pointed at 6-year-olds, are safe in the hands of responsible users.
But we have been told by Clinton/Gore — ad nauseum — that America
has a "gun problem." Maybe it is, as we have argued all along, a "user
problem," ergo, primarily the culture of disenfranchised sociopathic
criminals spawned by years of liberal social policies.
Speaking of Sociocratic spawn, at the National Zoo’s eighth annual
African-American family celebration, a black sixteen-year-old shot up
a group of black children. Less than an hour after that tragedy, Al
"I-Don’t-Use-Tragedies-To-Promote-My-Political-Agenda" Gore announced
the shootings at a star-studded Democratic fund-raiser in New York
City: "We really have to have mandatory child safety trigger locks,"
Gore told the crowd. "Trigger locks"? Washington, D.C., has the
strictest "gun control" laws in the nation, which apparently failed to
prevent this shooting. What difference, exactly, would child safety
locks have made? (The Village glitterati anted up $2 million for
Gore’s campaign.)
"Tragedies like this aren’t about gun control — they’re about a
breakdown in society," says Rep. J.C. Watts. "This culture we live in,
where kids are killing other kids, is about children who need
guidance, supervision and leadership. I hope Democrats and the vice
president will quit the gun-control rhetoric and focus on the real
problem. We need leaders who will serve as role models — not
opportunistic politicians. Al Gore and his Democrat friends who grew
up in Washington should know the gun laws where they were raised.
Handguns have been illegal in Washington, D.C., since 1977. And
children aren’t allowed to own guns anywhere. What kind of increased
gun control could he possibly have in mind that…would have stopped
this [or any such crime] from occurring?"
Last month, Bill
"I-Don’t-Use-Tragedies-To-Promote-My-Political-Agenda" Clinton called
for new gun legislation, citing an elementary school shooting by a
child who took a gun from his guardian’s crack house. Crack addicts,
of course, are fine law-abiding citizens.
And on the topic of the Clinton/Gore efforts to use the courts as a
club to mandate "gun control," seven leading firearms manufacturers
have filed a counter-lawsuit against federal, state and local agencies
and officials, alleging "an illegal conspiracy in restraint of trade
and in violation of the Commerce Clause of the United States
Constitution." Tit for tat!

Clinton ally leads march .. Tony Blankley
…regretfully, not all news organizations report details
accurately,… which brings me to the anti-gun "Million Mom March"…
CNN’s coverage is typical. Earlier this week CNN reported that
"the march is the brainchild of a New Jersey mother, Donna
Dees-Thomases, who conceived of the idea as she watched footage of a
shooting at an area day camp." …..
The New York Times, whose motto is "all the news that’s fit to
print," does manage to squeeze into this almost 2000-word report the
background fact that Ms. Dees-Thomases is "currently on leave from her
job as a part-time publicist for CBS." So, apparently, she is not just
any New Jersey mother ..(and) Before (that) she .. was Dan Rather
himself’s publicist…
Oh, there is one other interesting fact about her. ..She just
happens to be the sister-in-law of Susan Thomases, who just happens to
be Hillary Clinton’s best friend and closest political adviser. Just a
New Jersey housewife, indeed. One might as well
identify Queen Elizabeth as "Liz Windsor, an English mother of four."
Now, maybe all those warmhearted thoughts about maternal instincts
.. and getting politics out of it, are genuine. But when the organizer
of this event — so timely and politically useful to the Clintons — turns
out to be so closely connected to the Clintons, shouldn’t that be
reported widely?… it upsets me when political operatives cover their
activities under the saintly mantle of motherhood….. [end]
Worse, Richmond is providing busses at taxpayer expense!
Go Moms indeed ……..

Moms come in all shapes and sizes, same as their children do.
But no matter how big or small they are, they deserve our respect.

I was in our Nation’s Capitol on Sunday for reasons other then the M-M-M. Have
to tell you it was a sight. Seeing the look of glee on all those husbands faces
as the dropped their old ladies off at the Capital Building, knowing they were
free to roam DC for several hours….
I was especially uplifted hearing Susan Surandan and Rosie O’Donnell
chanting "We are pissed off!" "We are pissed off!" over the blaring
microphones at the rally.
Clintonism has debased the entire American society to the point where
"Miss Nice" Rosie O’Donnell feels it acceptable to say "We are pissed
off!" in front of the children and the world. Wonderful example of
motherhood, and social responsibility, Rosie.

Million Mom March motto:
"It’s better to be a victim than to be armed."
I’m a mom and I think it’s funny as hell. I also think it’s sad that so
many misinformed moms have taken steps to eliminate one more of our
Constitutional rights. It’s not about guns, it’s about freedom to choose
and Constitutional rights. I’d fight for your right to choose NOT to own
guns, just like I’d fight for your right to choose to worship whatever
God you choose to worship.
Anyway, the only REAL winners of the Misinformed Moms March, were the
husbands who didn’t have to put up their wives for a day.

They are only jackasses when they don’t agree with you.
Acting like jackasses: Definition: disagreeing with the slobbering
right wing.

Nah, the REAL issue is all those women inviting themselves
to be *raped*, seeing as how they were unarmed..
