General discussion of US politics

Think for a minute…

"The terrorists demonize us and that allows them to do what they did.  We will
sink to the same level of barbarism"

I found this interesting article that attempts to analyze the possible
motives of what happened, and to base a plan of action on a solid
    rational:
    http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/nm/20010916/pl/attack_history_dc_1.html

The theory that these terrorists are just mean madmen is fatally
naive.  This country has been waging extremely expensive wars against
terrorist regimes since 1991, and while we’re thinking they’ve been
subdued, they came up with the most catastrophic retaliation in our
history.  Now what? another war? this time we’ll waiste them for good?
     really?

They are not madmen, whatever they are doing is for a reason: there is
a conflict of interest.  Does our media even explain to us what it’s
all about?  Or are they leading us, once again, to fight someone
    else’s war?

Thousands of lives, billions of dollars, and what exactly is in it for
    us?

Think for a minute – who’s benefiting from us getting into war?  Which
*foreign* country finds its security at our expense?
